I live in the Palms now, and it is more than enough apartment for my girlfriend and I. We relocated from Cincinnati back in February, and we had made one trip in late November to look at some apartments. After doing some research online, we visited about 6 complexes once we got here. We looked at Castlewood Townhomes, and they were our #1 choice, with The Palms being #2. I don't know what some of the people on this forum expect, but I had no problems with either complex, although I'm glad we ended up where we did. It fits our situation better. Our 2 bdrm is less than $700, but no utilities are included. If your moving alone, there is a 1 bdrm option with a den that could serve as an office/guest room if the $ is that tight.
Hope this helps...PM me if you want some more specific info!

Just wanted to try something new. I'll move back eventually, but I'm only 26...if not now, when? I've enjoyed it here so far, the weather has been fantastic, and now I get to enjoy visits back to a city I love, and live in a new city to fall in love with. And it's not hard to love Charleston...

End of thread, unless coworkers are boring, old or whatever.
My advice... go west on 526, and plan on spending a lot of time in an area called Avondale, or downtown if you feel like driving another 10 minutes or so.

We are very close to 3 grocery stores, there is a CVS being built on the corner, not far from the Citadel Mall, and the Avondale area is only a 10-15 minute drive (depending on traffic), or a pretty cheap cab ride if its that kinda night
I feel comfortable enough in the neighborhood around me, that I've taken my 10 lb. dog on a walk at 1AM. There a few subdivisions that back up to the Ashley River down the street with some very nice houses, and it makes for a good place to walk. I pass someone else every time and everyone waves and says hello. A park borders the complex with 2 tennis courts, a bball courts and a softball/baseball field. I think there is a slowpitch league because there are lots of people there a couple nights a week. All in all, we are very happy with our apartment, and don't plan on moving unless we find a significant upgrade in amenities or size, which will be hard...

I would not move to the Palms. Try Townhouse Village or Westchase. Like many others have said, utilities are NOT INCLUDED in most of the apartments in Charleston. Good Luck!

Do you have any specific reason behind this opinion? Is there something I should be worried about?
