Default Any vegetarian or vegetarian friendly restaurant suggestions

My son's girlfriend is vegetarian (not for philisophical reasons, she just doesn't like the taste of meat), my son is not. Does anyone have any good restaurant suggestions for them. As an example of a place they like, they went to school in Boone, NC and this was one of the places they liked a lot hobnob | Just another WordPress site Hob Knob used vegetables from their own gardens or other organic local gardeners.

The thread that triggered me to post this was Robyn's thread about the place called Our Local Foods (I sent that link to him Robyn). It was heavier on meat than Hob Knob, but seemed to be a good start.

Try this - BlackBeanCo.com | Energy Food, Natural Organic Health Food, Vegan Food, Online Food Ordering | Charleston, South Carolina

They have many choices for vegetarians and non-vegitarians and the food is delicious. I do prefer their lunch menu over their dinner menu though.

A couple generic places would be Italian and/or Mexican restaurants - as they usually have at least a few vegetarian options. if she is vegan, then its more difficult to find good places.

More specifically from places I've tried (my wife and I are vegetarian) in the area: Blackbean Co., Saffrons, Sermets Courtyard, Ali Bhabas, Mellow Mushroom (sort of a regional chain), Basil, Mustard Seed, SNOB, Laura Alberts Tasteful Options (check the menu since it changes often), and Five Loaves Cafe.

Thank you all - will pass these on to him. We're familiar with Mellow Mushroom - we have them in Charlotte and there might have been one where they went to college.....either that, or they just knew of it. And they love Mexican places - we've got some really good authentic places in our area (with the double soft corn tortillas and cilantro and onions only with the meat) so whenever he's home, he always wants to go.

My husband and I went to Ali Baba on Saturday and it was delicious! A lot of places here have vegetarian options, though. I'm a vegetarian who just moved here from a small town, and I've been very impressed so far. Every burger place we've visited has had veggie burgers, salads, most places are willing to be accommodating, too.

Also, check out the Earth Fare, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's grocery stores. EF and WF have hot bars with lots of vegetarian options but they are all grocery stores that sell a large variety of vegetarian products.
