That's the beauty of this area! I have 2 Harris Teeters, 2 Bi-Los, Publix, and Piggly Wiggly all within 3 miles of my house, so I don't mind store hopping. I never used to do that when I didn't have so many choices that were so close together.

I went to Harris Teeter the other day for some fresh shrimp, and from the 5 options laid out in the seafood section, one was from Argentina, two from Thailand, one from Indonesia and another from another Asian country. We had pasta that night

I love Harris Teeter . That's where I shopped before moving to Charleston, and probably my favorite grocery store here for everything, along with Publix. Publix is a little closer, but I try to stop into Harris Teeter when I'm in that area in West Ashley. I coupon and feel Harris Teeter is the best store for that. Also, Publix does the penny item on Wednesday if you buy $10 worth of stuff. Sometimes it's a good item, so I usually wind up doing at least some of our shopping at Publix, on Wednesday

We also like Trader Joe's for certain things that we've only found there- it's our favorite of the "specialty" type grocery stores, but being in Mt. P, we don't go there a whole lot. I highly recommend it if you're on any sort of special diet too, as they have a lot of gluten-free, vegetarian, etc options for reasonable prices.
