I heard there is a place in Charleston where a family can watch dolphins swim. Any advice in locating this spot please let me know. Also what times are the best.

I very often see dolphins down toward the end of folly beach near the morris lighthouse. I was also told that if you go to the Kiawah state park and then walk a long way toward the inlet, you will always see dolphins but haven't been there yet.

Shem Creek at dinner time or earlier when shrimpers come in.
Today, my husband saw many in the Cooper River while he was walking the Ravenel Bridge. If you were on the pier (Mt. P Waterfront Park) you would have seen them, too.
Wild animals, freely swimming.

Take the boat over to Bull's Island National Wildlife Refuge - dolphins are often in the inlet there, and the island itself is incredible. Temperatures will probably be more comfortable in mid-September, however, barring hurricanes.

I've also seen dolphins near the bridge between Sullivan's Island and the Isle of Palms.

I see them whenever I stop for lunch at Red's Icehouse on Shem Creek. Between about 11am and 2pm or so.

Yeah Shem Creek, Breach Inlet, and around Fort Moultrie. I see them quite a bit paddleboarding and kiteboarding.

Although if you aren't out in the water, I'd say Red's at Shem Creek is your best bet.

Another place is waterfront park in Charleston. Sometimes I walk there at lunch and usually see dolphins.
