I'm looking at a map, and it appears that to get to Historic Charleston from Daniel Island one has to take 526 all the way up past North Charleston and then drive back down on 26. That doesn't seem right - is there a quicker route? It's so close.

It almost looks like it'd be quicker to take 526 to Mt. Pleasant and go over via MP.

Has there been a new bridge built since my map was created that links DI and downtown Charleston directly?

I'm wondering then what the drive time is (not miles) from DI to downtown C'Ton and then MP to downtown C'ton.

The people that I worked with that live on Daniel Island would take 526 to rte. 17 in Mount Pleasant to get to work in Charleston.

mac,
Know that Bishop England HS is thriving with kids from all over -- so many think that getting to DI is easy enough, one way or the other.

Well there is a top secret way to get there that is not on a map... however we cannot reveal the way, so it appears you are stuck with "looking at a map".
