We lived in Summerville about 3 years ago. We went through the houses then, and thought they were gorgeous, but in the year we lived there, I think one house was sold. Even thought they were gorgeous homes and in a convenient location, they seemed a little overpriced in the economy.

Now that my husband and I are moving back, I have seen some a few homes pop up in the real estate searches we have done. I was wondering if they are still building, how the neighborhood has come along, etc.

I have heard hardly anything on these boards and my husband and I are curious.

There's actually been a LOT of discussion about the current state of the housing market on this board.

There is a huge amount of new building going on all over right now. From Moncks Corner to Johns Island and West Ashley to Mt. Pleasant.

Is there anything in particular you want to know about?

Just asking because there was nothing specifically asked about that in the body of the post. Wasn't sure if they meant in general or specifically in Daniels Orchard.

Thanks for the clarification.

I meant Daniels Orchard specifically. I know a lot about the housing market in the area, but I want to know if Daniels orchard has grown, sold houses, continuing to build or if these are the same houses from 4 yrs ago. We can't find a Summerville neighborhood that has what we want that is close enough to my hubby's work. We would have loved Daniel's Orchard but it seems not to have done very well.

Daniels Orchard is starting to have selling activity again after significant price adjustments. That neighborhood just started to build just as the recession started.

My wife loves those houses on Hickory over there, just think they were way overpriced at the time, look more reasonable now...
