The California Dreamin' location in Charleston is lovely. Right on the water. Other then that, it is no better nor no worse then any California Dreamin' and they are far from my favorite places to go.

Other then water views, California Dreamin' cannot hold a candle to the butt of many finer restaurants in Chraleston.

That's what my issue is...there are so many great restaurants I don't do the so so restaurants -- which are still good but not great.

BUT California Dreamin' might be good for some of our friends/family that come to visit and want the Shem Creek, ocean and other water views.

Nobody every talks about 17 North. I've had some great meals/snacks there and I love their outdoor seating when it isn't too hot.

The one here is the Original, it is a castle looking building right on the water across the river from the city marina...

Get what? The Peninsula Grill is not IN the Planter's Inn. Peninsula Grill is a part of the hotel/boutique along with Hank's. Peninsula Grill is at the end of a long, beautiful alley.

Peninsula Grill web site describes it as 'Peninsula Grill at Planters Inn" -- so I figure if they say it -- guess what -- we can too

" Peninsula Grill is located at the end of a landscaped alley illuminated by gas
lanterns and is a part of the historic Planters Inn"

I understand that you are just confused...so no disrespect intended.

Hank's is about two blocks away from the Planter's Inn.

The Peninsula Grill is PART of the Planter's Inn. It is inside the hotel. Hence my saying "Peninsula Inn" by mistake in my first post. Just a slip of the tongue (finger)...get it? LoL

Actually the original California Dreaming was in Columbia...."In 1984 California Dreaming – The Restaurant and Bar at Union Station opened in Columbia, South Carolina. This began the family of twenty restaurants operated by CentraArchy Restaurant Management Company, with one more currently on the drawing board and gradual expansion planned thereafter."

Not in Downtown? Haven't found it? Were you blind folded? Charleston has an abundance of great high-end restaurants. Hall's, McCrady's, Oak, Tristan's, Husk, Penninsula Grill and on and on.
