I did not like fleet landing but only went once. Their fried oysters were terrible and the crab dip was ok. So far my favorite fried oysters have been Gillian's, awe shucks and the crab shack. For a nicer atmosphere and great food.....Coast bar and grill. Coast has a perfect balance of casual, yet cozy and nice. Their crab dip is the best I've had and their crab stuffed fish was sooooo good.

I cook a lot of my seafood at home and I buy from Sellsfish on 17 in Summerville.

Coast is such a cool location for inside/not on water... and some say the seafood is wonderful, too! I like being there, though don't eat seafood (no hating, please).

Second vote for Coast, I've been to Hyman's once for whatever reason and thought it was overpriced and not great. Coast is definitely one of my favorites, The Boathouse is always pretty solid as well.

Where is a good seafood market other than Mt. Pleasant or Crosby's, more out towards Summerville/GC?

Adam, Sellsfish in Summerville. We buy from there probably once a week.

Yes!

So glad you mentioned this!

Haddock Fish Fries and Zweigels hot dogs are the two things I'd thought I'd miss!

I grew up eating seafood on the coast. My dad, grandpa, and myself went fishing a lot in salt water. Best seafood, Coast, I agree with others, Coast downtown.

Hyman's is for tourists, no good at all.

Fleet Landing is good, not great.

Hank's is awesome, but expensive!

Charleston Crab house is not too good, medium at best.

Boathouse is awesome, but expensive!

Brick house Kitchen James Island, excellent , very good fish, seafood, and medium prices.

Crosby's (Folly Beach), when weather is good, fresh fish on friday nights, very , very good.

I've had 2 bad experiences at Fleet Landing so won't be back. We tried Gilligan's once I couldn't finish my meal there. We had good luck with Charleston Crab House (on James Island). Glad to get some new recommendations, my DH (a Boston native) so he loves his fish.

I didn't love the Boat House -- keep telling my husband we need to go back and try it again.
