I remain devoted to Maurices/Bessingers' burgers, but I do want to try Chas Burger Co sometime.

I am not much of a burger eater but for a chain, I like 5 Guys.

Poe's, hands down would be my winner. Coleman Gastropub had good ones, as did Sesame Burger. Went to Pawley's twice and while the descriptions of he burgers sounded great, they just weren't executed properly, and also I found every bread offering too heavy for the burgers.
Oh! Also, Paige's Okra Grill does a GREAT burger, huge, juicy and cooked perfectly every time (we like mid-rare, which for some reason a lot of places can't do well). Great prices there, too.

I would vote Poe's. Also the chicken sandwich is just as good.

Best one I've had since I've been here was at O'Brions in I'on, with a close second place finish at Cinebarre. I've had a bunch of underwhelming burgers most notably from Sesame Burger. Four different occasions at two of their locations and I just don't understand it. On the other hand they have an awesome selection of draft beers, appetizers and really good sandwiches.

I want to try Coleman Public House and Page's next.

I vote for Charleston Burger Company. Their veggie burger isn't a black bean burger but it sure is good. My husband loves it (goes there about once a week), and all of his meat-eating friends have converted as well. Yeah, it's a little far out here in West Ashley but worth the drive.
Mosaic's in Mt. P has really great black bean burgers! They even have candied jalapenos on them.

Oops. Meant Melvins - not Maurices. Maurices is in Columbia but part of the same Bessinger family.
