This is a broad question, and that is intentional.
I don't want to guide anyone's thoughts anywhere. I'll find out more by just allowing everyone to freely express what they love about living in Charleston.
I moved here on a whim a month ago simply because Charleston is so beautiful. You don't see many cities in the US that still have streets like the Battery or Rainbow Row.
I love the 'oldness', even with all the new that is coming in more rapidly than you can blink. I love the weather, even though I really miss true 4 seasons weather. I love all the green, especially early spring, and I love how Charleston really dresses up with spring foliage and flowers. I adore the food and restaurants, and love the 'new south' that chefs are bringing to their restaurants; along with that, I love the movement toward local produce, seafood and meat products, and the support they all get from the community at large and the restaurants. i love the lack of traffic, despite what some might say; compared to New Jersey, I'll take a Mt Pleasant traffic jam any day! I love the cost of living, even though some say it's high; when we lived in NJ, we were making well into six figures and barely scraping by, and we're not extravagant folks. Here we live on considerably less, and live well, with dollars left to put away and also to have fun with. I love the slower pace of life in general, and the friendliness of 'most' of the people here. Now if there were only mountains in Charleston, I'd be 100% happy!
i moved here almost three months ago and i love the trees here. The palmetto trees and the really tall pine trees are my favorite! Its a beautiful place, cant wait till spring!
