Does anyone have any personal experience with any competitive swimming and hockey programs in/around Summerville? I have found many of them online, but I was wondering if anyone had any insight on the actual teams.

My 15 year old is the swimmer, my 12 year old plays hockey.

Thank you!!!

Some of the schools have hockey also, but I don't know which ones, everyone uses the Carolina Ice Palace to practice and compete...

I looks like the local High Schools with hockey teams are Bishop England/Porter Gaud (combined), Fort Dorchester, Stratford, Summerville and Wando. Here's a link to the SCSHA website:

I didn't realize so many schools here had hockey. That's pretty cool.

Swimming is big here. There are a few clubs in West Ashley alone so I'm sure there's tons in other areas too.

You are right, but if they are planning to buy and live here longer than three years it will be relevant since it may affect where they purchase a house based on the schools sports teams availability....

It is called planning ahead, good parents do this...

You are right -- plan ahead. Charleston Youth Hockey will be a good foundation. The high school hockey is not great

We are hockey FANatics. My first trip to Charleston was with a youth hockey travel team. . The time and money we have spent on hockey could have funded a small nation. My husband is the only who plays now.
