Hello,

I've accepted a job based in the Charleston area and will be moving mid/late summer, I'm assuming. I know there are many topics just like this (which I've read), but everyone has a specific set of circumstances and wants. All signs point towards Mt Pleasant, but please let me know since we are open at this point. It will be my Wife and I, plus 3 kids under 8. Here is what we are looking for:

-4-5 bedroom house around 400k
-newer home (we are even open to brand new construction)
-good schools
-near shopping and restaurants
-not too far from the beach
-a neighborhood with amenities (not sure how prevalent that is down here)
-fairly close to a good golf course or two

Please let me know what area/s fit that description. I appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks!!

All would work. Some of my favorite neighborhoods in the tri-county area are found in that list and would be reflected in your stated criteria. I think you're going to have a fun time finding your next home. Best of luck and let us know here if there's anything else we can do to help answer your questions.

I've walked by the one in Pembrook (Park West) that's the short sale for $375. I'm not sure what the inside looks like, but the outside seems pretty clean from the street. Homes in there tend to go from $425-480ish so if you could get it at $375 and drop $25k into any fixes you'd have instant equity in an area that teems with kids your children's age in one of the area's most sought after schools. It really is one of those "Kids go out and play" type of streets.
