Steak n Shake & Aldi's. Our family of four could eat for under $20 after all the coupons & free kids meal on weekends. Aldi's doesn't have a very big selection, but the one I went to back home was always clean & well run. Great for picking up the basics without fussing with coupons & I sure miss paying only $1.99/gallon milk.

Aldi's is on par with shopping for groceries at Big Lots.

There will be a Steak n Shake opening in about a week It is on Tanger Outlet Blvd in North Charleston.

I'd like a Macy's too! My son would like a Bass Pro Shop.

Evidently you do not realize there is a Homegoods/Marshals in MtP.

I wouldn't say that....

But yeah, $1.99 milk & $1.99 24 packs of spring water at Aldi's are hard to beat!

I'm going to be the lone dissenter pain in the azz - I can't stand chain stores. But then again, I'm a bit of a hermit too. Hmm, wonder if the two are related?

I'm not a hermit but not a huge fan of chains. That's what I like about Charleston -- the independent restaurants and stores. I am not likely to hit up a chain for dinner. I'd rather eat out once a month at a good independent restaurant than once a week at a good chain.

I think the person is looking for a stand alone Homegoods store. In other major markets the Homegoods store is a stand alone and larger than the TJ Max or Marshal stores in Mt. Pleasant.....and they carry way more stuff..
