I'm just sayin' is Southern? Other people don't say that?

I must agree with that. Oh and for the record, I've never said nor heard someone say "Y'all come back now, ya hear?"

They old timers shortened that statement to "Ya'll Come."

Older folks at home would say it all the time.

I'd like to know some technical things about teaching in your state:

1) an estimate of deductions a teacher can expect out of each paycheck (pension, medical for 1 parent and 2 children, taxes, union dues)

2) does SC offer the option to have your salary spread out over 12 months?

3) is the pay cycle bi-monthly?

4) do math and/or special ed teachers get paid more than the public steps shown online?

5) would SC count years teaching at a catholic school when deciding your step?

6) Teaching is stressful but would you say it is less stressful than the North? Teachers here in gen ed typically have 5 periods of about 25 kids each plus a duty.

I'd really appreciate the info. I teach in NJ and this past school year had 13k taken out. Before I can decide if moving is smart, I need to know a close to real amount of cash flow I will have.
Hello im a NJ teacher who Is considering moving to SC. Thank you Oletomcat for answering some of my questions. I had couple of question to nleggett 1: where in nj do you teach 2: have you started doing the process application to sc 3. Did you apply for your license to be valid in sc.
This question is for all , in the state of nj we teachers have to work 25 years to get full benefits how many years for teachers in SC have to give?
