Meks...
No, haven't tried them (YET!), but I know exactly the place you're referring too... They're in the new shopping center (corner restaurant). Funny you should mention that place because it's on my list. Did the usual drive by (stalking hahaha), just wanted to see the place full (that's usually a clue).
will give it a shot!
ps, there is a great burrito place in Mt. Pleasant (Yo Burrito), next to Time Out Sports. Don't know the name of the roads yet, still learning. It's Hwy 17 I think, but it's called something else too, a guy's name (Chuck something maybe or Dodd?)

a little help here;
Yo Burrito is on Coleman Blvd. There is also one DT by the college.
Try Moe's in Summerville by Target for quick, basic & cheap SouthWest.
Want real & quick? Try the truck at the gas station by the airport. It helps if you are fluent in spanish.
I think the best fish Taco's are at Taco Boy in Folly.
Although Poe's fish taco was great, I couldn't resist their burgers & a gravity beer.

My husband couldn't resist the burger either. I had a bite of his and it was awesome. What's a gravity beer?

I agree with Melinda, we need healthy fast food places in the Summerville-Goose Creek area's.
Melinda, have you tried Tomatoe's on Trolley Road? They are in a small strip center right down from Publix. My favorite is the cheese tortolini with grilled chicken. You have got to have the house salad with the raspberry vinigrette dressing. It's the best I have ever tasted. They are open for lunch and dinner.

Random responses to everyone:
I really miss TCBY. It closed in West Ashley years ago. As a kid I would take a quart of their raspberry over just about anything.
Downtown did have a Jamba Juice at one point - as well as two Planet Smoothies and a Smoothie King. Now a single Planet Smoothie is all the remains from that lot.
For fast Tex-Mex... is there no love for Juanita Greenberg's Nacho Royale? An order of their supreme bean nachos is crazy delicious. I used to live off their massive burritos in college.
I love the "taco trucks" in North Charleston.
Definitely give Taco Boy a try if you've never been.
Tsunami is where I like to go for sushi, but Wasabi constantly wins the "best sushi" award.
I think I read it in another thread, but I'll just respond here - I agree with Jim, Basil gets the nod for best Thai.
Sounds like we need a best of thread, eh?

I really miss,,,
1. Sorbet!!!!!!!!!!!! I have tried everywhere. Everyone thinks I can't spell sherbet. Everthing here has dairy.
2. Street vendors on the beach near the P Coast highway. I loved the little frozen juice carts on the beach
3. Everything about Santa Barbara,,,
How about a "LEFT AT ALBUQUERQUE"? have you ever eaten at one?
My son misses Del Taco.

Melinda,
I think I will have to bring a years supply for both of us. They just opened one up in Belmont Shores (Long Beach) and I've been way too many times to count.
In fact, I got some tonight!
Have you tried looking on City Search? To see if there is anything listed you haven't found yet?

sigh...
Orangecountygirl, I can't believe you told you've just had some Pinkberry, long sigh . The pit of my stomach just rumbled, poor thing, if only...
I have scoured, absolutely driven myself MAD trying to find a proper frozen yogurt shop. Only could locate the ever so popular ice cream mom and pop sort of place that served one or two flavors of um, something called yogurt, but it wasn't. It's probably ridiculous to complain about (having traveled and seen poverty at levels of that nobody should suffer).
Eat up girlfriend , you'll be crying soon enough.... I write this with lots of laughter (light and friendly).
Goosecreeker, don't even get me started on Santa Barbara...
Ok, but let's remind ourselves, the homes ARE CHEAPER AND HUGE!
yes, bring some frozen yogurt, on dry ice, and top it with a Baja Fresh with a slice of Maggiano's (yes I know, it's a chain, but damn it's good). Won't bother listing some of the fine dining because ya know, Charleston has got that covered, whew. We do need a Z Pizza though... This place would go nuts for an Astro Burger, or In & Out. Actually, I'd give it all up for a Nobu. again, long sigh...
