Waffle House on Hwy 17, just across from downtown. Awesome breakfast hangout spot!

I actually like Waffle House too . It's tasty and simple, and there's just something about a greasy spoon restaurant sometimes.

We went to 3 Little Birds for lunch yesterday and were very disappointed. The breakfasts I've had there were good, but face it, it's hard to mess up pancakes. We won't go back for lunch.

I want to try Dixie Cafe downtown now!

Was Dixie Cafe on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives for breakfast or lunch/dinner?

Agreed, as a construction guy all my life it's like putting on your favorite pair of slippers.

At 2am it's a different vibe, but still familiar

The one on 17 in WA is much closer for me.

Waffle House is something you just need from time to time. Kind of like the Kickin' Chicken.

I can only give the Hwy 17 one 4 out of 5 stars because the coffee could flow a little more freely, but it does have a great view if you sit at the north end of the place.

Madra Rue pub in North Charleston.

Sunflower in West Ashley.

Both are great!

Oh never even thought of Madra Rua for breakfast; what do they have there?

Yep, but I've heard it's still worth the visit and very tasty. Hopefully fame hasn't changed it!
