Sounds like gum to me too. It doesn't like to burn unless it is completely dried. Was it split or round logs? I ask because gum is a bear to split.

Sweetgum

I'll take some pics when I get home tomorrow. I do remember seeing a huge blob of brown gummy sap coming out of one end of a log after I'd had it on the Duraflame for a little while.

I know you want more wood than this, but hubbie got some very nice seasoned bundles at Harris Teeter last year. Course that could change this year, depending on where they get it. Just sayin.

Caili - I just bought a bundle from HT and it is good stuff. I really didn't expect this. I bought bundles from the Pig, Whole Foods, and Bi Lo last year and they were all duds. The stuff at the HT over on Houston Northcutt comes from Batesville, up near Columbia. Gabby's Firewood, it's called. I'm going to call them and see if they can deliver.

Thanks!

one of my neighbor recommended me a company called Treasured Moments in Summerville
he told me they delivered him very good firewood last year, at the time we talked together he had not placed any order firewood for this year yet but he was planing too to do so soon.
I have not called them yet but I found their phone number on the web: https://plus.google.com/107209190987919230137/about

I've seen "Always Blazin Firewood" across from the Publix shopping center but have never tried it.
