What I don't get -- always busy on the patio.

Meanwhile -- we finally got to Shelter near Shem Creek -- good food. More of a bar in ambience but surprisingly the food was yummy

Ouch. Hopefully the kitchen will revamp whatever it is they're not doing. They sure spent a fortune on the rennovation of the building.

Went there first week it opened, so I will give them a free pass on the long wait for food.

Tacos were not very good. I have not been back since. Its a shame because they seem like they are very eager, but they need to throw the current menu in the trash and start fro scratch.

Went to Taco Boy last Friday. Let's just say it was a tad dissappointing. Not very crowded and they screwed up our order, weren't very nice about it. Probably wonn't go back.

Sigh..........Hate when we go out and it goes blah!

Yeah, I had the same experience there. I got the corn tortillas for my tacos and it tasted like they rolled them in dirt. They were mostly flavorless except for the fried chicken one.

Basico had better tacos, but the best I have had have been out of food trucks or hidden on the menu of non-Mexican places like Poe's.

I liked the tacos at Basico as well. Dig the atmosphere there too. Still one of my favorite places for tacos is Jim and Nick's. They promote them on Tuesdays but are available anytime. It may seem strange ordering a taco at a BBQ joint, but you won't regret it. Their tacos have become so popular, that they opened a Mexican inspired restaurant called The Little Donkey in Birmingham.
