If only. Nope, they require at least a full 48 hours notice. Still haven't seen any closure notice for them. Figures.

I ended up feeling bad for laughing about Atlanta when I heard about it - I am a rabid panthers fan, so can be blinded by football hatred so of course when I think Atlanta, I think the Falcons. But when I heard about the extent of what happened, I felt a lot of remorse for the glee I initially felt. Sounds like it was a nightmare for people. I read one op-ed piece that really told it like it was. Truly horrible.

I have to say that I am at a loss as to why a major metropolitan city like Atlanta is going through what it is. I understand that the South's infrastructure isn't armed to cope with winter storms, but 90% of their plight seems completely unnecessary and self inflicted. The whole East Coast, heck the whole country, knew about this storm coming days in advance, and unlike Atlanta we're not the city where CNN and The Weather Channel are headquartered ... you'd think someone would get the heads up.

There's nothing humorous about people being stuck in life threatening cold and getting into dangerous accidents ... but as was noted in this very thread days in advance: ice bad so stay home good.

Humans.

Refreeze, yes...what didn't evaporate.

Still think you should have told them they owe you $50 for your inconvenience ..... I would so change dentists. On a side note - my husband had a dentist appointment this morning too at 8:00 am (we're not in Charleston, we're Charlotte, but I hang out here because my son is in Charleston and he never tells me anything so this is how I find out). Anyway - we got a call from the office manager last night at 9:45 - with profuse apologies to let us know that they weren't going to open today, but that they would call him Thursday to reschedule. Kudos to them for reaching out to every single person personally. I know she was doing this from home and it's a pretty big practice so she was probably busting her butt
.

I would think that the Don Holt took all their forces, which is why that was the only bridge to open today.
