I am new to the area and wanted to ask someone who knew the estimated commute time from Westcott Plantation to the FLETC campus in North Charleston? I am considering Goose Creek if commute time is more than 30 minutes. Thanks
It will depend partially on what time you leave to get to work. I drive from farther out then Wescott (10 extra miles, out by Legend Oaks on Rt. 61), and it takes about an hour to get to work which is right next to Join Base Charleston on the Aviation Ave side.
Coming in from Goose Creek wont be much better IMO, since Rivers isn't exactly a fast moving road when you get in rush hour conditions (I haven't seen how good or bad it is trying to take N. Rhett all the way down though)..
Nice area for sure. But you are looking at well over an hour one way for commute times.
Definitely, at least for now. I think once Dorchester Rd and Bacons Bridge are completed, I can shave off 10-15 minutes from my commute.
I always look forward to two specific times of the year: Summertime and holidays where schools are off but Gov is still open. Anytime school is out, my commute is almost always cut in half. Also - if you're on the road before 7, you'll miss a lot of congestion as well. Just from my experience.
Depending where you would be living and working. Can be 30 mins or up to an hour. It is not as bad here as Northern VA as it would take me 2 1/2 hrs commute for a 20 min drive.
We live off of 61 near Beech Hill Elementary School, and my husband works in N. Charleston near Core Rd. He leaves around 6 a.m., takes 61/Ashley River Road to West Ashley (by Roper Hospital) and hops on the interstate. Takes him about 30 min. unless there's an accident.
Can you tell me more about Legend Oaks Plantation and Beech Hill Elementary? TealDreamer / JRadV thanks very helpful.
