We went to the Long Point Grill for lunch today. The food was very good, and the portions were huge. I wasn't feeling "Meat-ish" so I ordered the Portobello sandwich. I have to say that it was excellent, the arugula was a difference maker......a little bit goes a long way. Gotta save room for desert next time, that Dine with Sal hospitality group also owns Village Bakery and their display case had some awesome cakes under the glass. "in case of Emergency, Break Glass!!"

I think we just found the perfect place to pre-game before Hootie's Homegrown concert next month.

Went to Brick House on Folly (on JI) for brunch. Had driven past it a million times but never tried. The food was great, the french toast in particular. Service was way too slow and disorganized with our parties dishes all coming out at random times. Not the place to go if you are in a rush!

We had lunch at Swig & Swine on Hwy 17 yesterday. My love of Hog has been well documented here -- I'll just say that the Pulled Pork was very good. The Sauce is as important as the Meat, and S&S had all 4 major varieties on the table.

DW is the Brisket Connoisseur and she gave their offering all 5 chef hats (her highest rating so far).

Swig & Swine is opening a Summerville branch this September. Going to be on Old Trolley Road near Dorchester Road, where the old Valentino Pizza used to be. I can't wait.

Swig & Swine is good but too expensive for bbq.

We went to Charleston Crab House and it was ok, but overpriced. Sitting on the water was nice.

It's my opinion that most of the restaurants right on the water (Fleet Landing, Crab House, California Dreaming, Locklear's, etc) are only 'OK'. It's usually all about the water views.

Agree with all those except CA Dreaming - the food is good there I think.

Agreed on both counts. S&S had really good brisket I thought, but only so so BBQ. And yes, a bit pricey for what it was.
Charleston Crab House is all about the view.
