As I tell my daughter.. the way you express yourself matters as much as the content of your message.

You have to be careful about trying to read tone typed on a computer by someone you don't know.

True. But then I wasn't exactly the only one with that impression.

I'll admit, I got that impression as well. Seemed pretty obvious to me actually.

Haha I did not mean to come across as snarky. I hate it here due to tech and I used the word "obvious" with a positive connotation, as I am looking forward to coming back to SC and getting away from the fast paced life and often greed that comes with these booming tech industries. And I was just stating the facts, Google, Facebook, all this huge companies do not exist in SC. Apologies - thank you for those who constructively responded - super helpful!

Yea, what the heck is with everyone calling ameyer410 snarky??

I read the statement as if it said "Obviously Buffalo is a snowy city while Charleston isn't" -- it's literally just a fact...

But to be helpful - the other thread mentioned is a good start for tech companies. I know, specifically, that Blackbaud, Sparc, and Benefitfocus have significant marketing/sales departments.

Plenty of tech jobs in this area if you have a security clearance such as SPAWAR. Typically you can go there as a contractor possibly convert to govy.
