Also, we looked at Colonial Village at Hampton Pointe and really liked it! We kept looking and ended up moving elsewhere, but it was only because the apartment was a little small for us. Had we not had such a huge couch/entertainment center and kept looking, we probably would have gone with that one.

Thanks for the input it has been really helpful. Has anyone heard of Heron Reserve in west Ashely? They seemed nice today.

I am still trying to figure out the Mt pleasant appeal? Is it really worth the extra money for a smaller place? Everything seems so close to drive too. I guess that is what I will have to figure over the next year..

Off to James island tomorrow....

Heron Reserve is pretty close to me. It's a good location in West Ashley, very close to I-526 and also Hwy 17, both of those are major roads in the Charleston area. You're also really close to Walmart, Citadel mall, Costco, some restaurants, movie theatres, etc.

We didn't personally look at those apartments when we were looking to move down, but I drive by them often (they are right off Glenn McConnell Parkway which is a major road here). They are really nice looking.

Glenn McConnell can get kinda backed up in the mornings near West Ashley High School, but I think being at Heron Reserve, you're kinda past the morning backup so you should be good .

Heron Reserve is a little ways out from MUSC but again, if you're traveling in the early AM it won't be bad. I've only gone to HR to walk a dog in the trails behind the neighborhood but it seems like an ok location.

Edgewater in Mt P is really tucked away but rather new & nice looking.
Runaway Bay is a very convenient location -- close to Bridge & shopping.

I live in the Colonial Grand at Cypress Cove and can't wait to move out. Compared to what else is out there I am very much over paying.
