Westwood Plaza Shopping Center is getting a new Harris Teeter next to Barnes and Noble, and the shopping center is getting a complete facade overhaul, new landscaping and an upgraded parking lot.
Oh, but it's less expensive to build 2 (two) new schools? You must be on the school board.
What a Lot.
2 new schools that will be at capacity when built vs 1 school that had 80 students. This may come as a surprise but on a per student basis these schools that will be packed will be cheaper than the one's that's nearly empty by a factor of 3 or so. The new schools would be built regardless.

The schools in MtP aren't replacing Lincoln. Would you prefer they bus the overflow from Wando to Lincoln?
MtP needs new schools. That is a given. Lincoln only served 80 students. Far below capacity. CCSD says they can even equip buses with wifi for the students on their ride and save a lot of money.
