I have Angie's List but didn't know if anyone has had a great experience with a housecleaning service here in the Charleston/MtP area? It would help if they didn't charge an arm and a leg, so maybe a local company vs a national one. Thanks

How many homes you need cleaning for?

Just where I currently live. The previous tenants didn't do an outstanding job cleaning when they left and it just needs a good wipe down. If the price is right, I'll use the company more than once.

Ok gotcha, so you just need a one time thorough blasting?

we use Classic Cleaners. they will do a one-time move out clean, or 1-4 cleanings a month on schedule (we used to use them 4 timess a month when we had a baby, now we just use once a month). we've been happy.

We have always had the best of luck by word of mouth. Having several rentals, I have found it best to find crews that are bonded and hungry for business. I just had to fire a crew because things kept coming up missing. Angie's List would probably be the best source for leads, also Craigslist? There are many companies listed, just call the ones that are bonded for sure. Might have to do your own vetting. Also, as another thought, maybe call some of the larger property management companies around town, they probably have lists of cleaners at their disposal. A lot of property mgmt companies will have crews "on call" for when they need them.

For any of the realtors reading this (haha): our realtor, as a moving gift, is paying someone to come in and clean the house one time after the sellers move out and before we move in. This is the BEST gift I can think of! Especially since we are long-distance movers. I'm sure he's got some kind of agreement on a decent price since he's effectively referring her business.

Unfortunately, she'll be cleaning next week and I won't see how clean it is until early June... But I can report back then ;-)
