If your license is current in PA, you won't have to take a test to switch it to a SC license. You'll have 90 days to do so and 45 days to transfer vehicle registration to SC.

Reality more retirees, vacationers here in Charleston SC area who tend not to be in a rush......less about the south and more about the size and type of life.

Simply put, coming from the northern Virginia last May, now I have my piece of mind again. I left a $100k job and don't even regret it.

Not sure I agree.

I do think the South in general is slower paced. Charleston is much faster paced than where I moved from (another southern geographic area).

People talk more in the South. I was watching an episode of "Cops" or "Dumbest Criminals" or one of those shows where a Mississippi cop was chasing a crook. While in the middle of pursuit, they actually started a conversation:

"I'm gonna catch you!"
"No you ain't!"
"Yes I am!"
"You ain't gonna catch me!"
"I'm damned sure am gonna catch your ass!"
"No you ain't, neither!"

Same here. Charleston is big city and fast compared to the sleepy south Georgia town where I grew up.

Less about the southern Georgian town and more about the size. Miami vs. Murrell's Inlet kind of thing.

How crazy is it that I never think of Florida as "southern"?!?!?! Maybe that is where the southern culture comes into play? I tend to think of Florida as tropical, rather than southern. And southeastern southern is very different than West Coast southern.

Oh I just picked that as an example....Let's pick any small town in Vermont, Maine, or Saskatchewan instead. The pace is always smaller in a small town. Nowhere to rush to.

Hmmm, on the 2nd post of this thread I made this point using Altoona as an example. Here we are 47 posts later discussing the same point. Is this the slower pace everyone is talking about?
