I see there were numerous older threads on this issue, but I would appreciate recent updates on a hair dresser that you are very pleased with, and have had good success over a period of time with color and cut. I am used to paying $ 90 for color and cut and tip !
What % tip do you usually give? What if its the owner? Thanks.

I go to Mark at M Salon in the Bi-Lo plaza on Shelmore. I have been with him over a year and have been happy with him. He charges $65 for a highlight and cut. I always tip 20%, even if it is the owner. Mark is one of the owners at M Salon and I went to the owner of a salon up north for almost 20 years.

Alexandria's Salon -- junior stylist Madie -- $35.00 for a cut. Very impressive cut for a 'junior' stylist.

I've had 2 cuts by Mark & am very pleased. He'll being doing my color for the first time next week. My former stylist just disappeared one day & I'm way overdue for color. Scared until I finally got comfortable with Mark. We'll see!

I was scared with him at first too. I am now comfortable enough to with him and tell him to do whatever color highlights he wants. I have an appointment with him this weekend.

Thank you Minicoop! Went to Mark today, very nice, competent and reasonable. It was probably not too stressful because I had the formula from my old hair stylist, and he carried the same product. Very happy and will go to him from now on.
