Apartments in Charleston (houses, plantation, safety)

Hello all,
A bunch of us are getting relocated to charleston, while some are looking into houses we are also looking at apartments. We are looking at Sawgrass Apartments in James Island and Plantation apartments in west ashley and we were curious if there was any info you have on those? Safety, ect. Also if you have any other suggestions??...Thanks!
