We are new to Summerville and in search of a non-denominational or Assembly of God church to attend. We came from a very upbeat church in Illinois. We are looking for something that has a casual atmosphere as well as great groups for our kiddos to get involved in. We have heard a lil about Faith Assembly of God and Seacoast. Just dont know if it is a casual church where you can be comfy wearing jeans or if we meed to break out our Sunday best. Any info would be helpful.

When we are in town we attend Seacoast, the Mt. P campus. Many there are dressed casual and the Word of God is truly taught there. The minute we walked in the first time, we felt such a peace. You can attend services online, Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings. All of that info is on their website.

When I was a kid, I used to stay in Summerville with my aunt and uncle on summer breaks and we went to Faith Assembly of God. My aunt passed away from cancer when I was a teen, but she loved that church and they were really good to her up when she was sick. Even though it was a large church and she wasn't super involved, she didn't fall through the cracks or anything when she had cancer.

I don't go to church there (I actually go to Circular which is downtown and quite different), but I liked attending FAoG as a kid and really respect how good they were to my aunt. From what I remember, it was a very casual church, jeans would definitely be okay there but some people dressed up, it was whatever you preferred really.

The best thing to do is church-hop when you get here. Try them out a few times, surely you'll find one with a good fit. Good luck with your move.
