Smile Hilton Head or Charleston for New Years Eve

I'm coming down to Hilton Head on Saturday. My 11yo daughter and I are looking for something to do for New Year's Eve. I'm planning my move to the Charleston area sometime next year, but we are staying at a time share in Hilton Head and I'm going to check out the different hospital in the Charleston area while I'm down there. I've never been to Hilton Head and was just looking for some suggestions. We will be there over New Year's, so I was just wondering if there were any celebrations in Hilton Head or Charleston. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

There is plenty going on in downtown Charleston every night, including New Years Eve. I just got back from HHI, and this time of year it is very slow down there. If you are looking for a place to go in a downtown setting, Charleston is the better of the two. If you are looking for plenty of peace and quiet, the go to HHI.
