Anyone else think that they've been particularly bad this year? We've had a dog and cat for years, and I don't think they've ever been as persistent as in 2014.

Frontline hasn't worked at all on these pests (for the first time). We're having to use this shampoo that we got off of Amazon which kills them good.... but they keep on coming back.

Anyone having the same issue? How are you going about correcting?

Treat your yard, most home centers or hardware stores have yard spread you can hook to your water hose to kill off fleas and other pests. If you have carpet, might need to use big bombs to kill hatching fleas.

We've had problems every year except this year. We changed their flea medication to Trifexis and it has been the big difference.

We have a long-haired cat, which would be an automatic flea target, but she doesn't go outside at all. We use Frontline on her, which works, probably because she's strictly indoors. We use a prescription flea med, Comfortis, for our dog, and it works just fine. (She can't take Trifexis because the dog has to be at least 5 pounds to take it...our dog is 4 pounds.)

Same thing for us. Trifexis is the only thing that is working this year. Comfortis is the flea med in Trifexis, which also has a heartworm med in it.

I live in Georgia, but will be relocating to Charleston, and I saw this post about fleas. Yes, they are worse than ever this year, I think. I had a terrible time getting rid of fleas this year. My dog is on Trifexis which helps alot, but my outdoor cat came in and infesting everything in fleas! I also started using diatomataous earth outside on my lawn and that has helped, too. Looking forward to coming to Charleston!
