I was sorry to hear this marina is not going in. I was told by DI Realtor that they still have the permits, but the cost of the marina has gone up significantly with the new rules around commercial sprinklers as a result of the new fire codes due to the fire of 2007. I would like to hear others opinions on that. Meanwhile, we would support a water taxi like we support UBER now. How long does it take to get from DI Marina to the Wando on the east side by boat?

Thx,
KLM
My son lives on Daniel and the house has a dock on the Wando... but keeps his boat at the DI Marina.... takes 12 to 15 minutes to get from the marina to his dock at the house. Basically he wanted the out of water storage that the marina offers... but typically leaves the boat on the dock weekends .. and gets it back to the marina sunday nite.... where it can be serviced, cleaned, fueled and iced ..

We own a drystack at the marina. A majority of the units are owned by a single NY investor that has been upgrading the facilities. I believe it's close to if not 100% full on the dry stack side. Maybe a few slips left. There's not a lot of area for it to expand. There's a construction barge business on one side and residential homes on the other. They can't really expand any more out due to the width of the channel.

I'd say to takes about 20 mins to get from the marina and out into the main Wando channel. A lot of the way out is no wake out of curtesy for the dock owners. Then half open the rest of the way.
