Hi. We recently moved to the south and will be taking our first trip to Charleston for 2 days. We will arrive very early (8-9am) and want to stop at a local bakery style cafe that serves muffins, croissants, biscuits, and a good cup of coffee. We will be meeting friends at 11 at the Red Barn for a carriage ride so maybe somewhere around there, since we will be walking once we park at our hotel. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!! (hotel is in historic district)

You could go to Saffron. It is walking distance from the red barn.

Saffron would be good. Not sure if the coffee is anything special but there's a good variety of pastries and baked goods.

Also Bakehouse as mentioned above and Dixie Supply are all within walking distance.

Saffron is delicious! That's my pick. I hope you have a great time here in Charleston.
