I have been reading this forum for quite awhile and have finally decided to post. I will be moving to the area from Washington and am looking for some suggestions on where to start looking.

1. Budget--I will be renting until I know where I want to be, $1500 to $2000/mo
2. House/Condo/Townhome? house
3. Employment Status(commute/work from home) will be working in Ladson would like a reasonable commute, preferredly less than 45 mins.
4. Children(public school vs. private) no kids
5. Suburban, Coastal or Urban lifestyle preference or a mix of them together (or even Rural) prefer to have a little room
Houses in Wa are built 2 feet apart from each other. We are definitely not city people.
6. Amenities preferred or must-haves--must have a 2 car garage and be about 30 minutes from places to throw in a kayak and catch some redfish. I don't care too much about the beach, just nice quiet fishing areas.
7. Preferable demographics of desired neighborhood--I didn't think you could answer this question so I'll say a nice safe neighborhoods where you don't have to be afraid your house will be broken into if you are away for 2 hours.

I'm sure I'll have more questions once I start to narrow down my choices. Just looking for a starting point. Thanks!!!

Agreed, Wescott Plantation in Summerville would be a good place to look. Other neighborhoods around Ladson and Summerville could work too. For homes with a larger lot "to have a little room" look a little farther out and in older neighborhoods. There's a big one in Asheborough East that's $1850 right now.
