Luvs, did you have a rough comute this morning?

I leave for work earlier than I need to so that I don't have to deal with so many idiots on the road.

Nah, fortunately I'm off today. But tomorrow will be another story.

I leave about 6:15 am and I-26 is already backed up and it's getting worse. Just finally decided to post my feelings about it. lol

Default My top (or bottom) five

  1. Hard place to do business
  2. So many biting insects
  3. Summer is hot (understatement)
  4. Lack of topography
  5. No bike lanes (unlike the West)
  6. Diversity of food (unless it is pecan crusted or has grits)

Oops, that was six.

1.) Can't help you here, depends on your business.
2.) Deete insect repelant, or skin so soft, or a thermacell.
3.) Welcome to the south, it is hot here...
4.) It is the coast, there are not mountains here, go to the upstate there are plenty of hills and even little mountains there.
5.) Bike lanes are available in certain areas, you just have to find them. Plenty of off road trails for bikes too, but you had better take your prefered bug spray.
6.) Greek, German, Italian, Vietnamese, Morocan, Ethiopian as well as seafood anyway your want it, what more diversity do you want?

I miss my family and good friends but other than that you can keep it!
Hubby always tells me I'm afraid of change, but I say he's afraid even more He lived in CT from his birth until he was 5, but barely remembers any of it. The last 18 years he's lived in the same house in Summerville. I think both of us would have different opinions if we were able to swap shoes in the past. Lol.

I love New Jersey, he loves South Carolina. I guess I better learn to love it as much as him, since we're building a house here as I type...

I tell him I'll win the lotto and buy a house up north, too His mom's entire side of the family is from Maine, and even he has to agree the weather up north is gorgeous in the summer time (unlike here). Taxes are nuts in Jersey, but I'd pay more to live there. I won't leave him alone about living up north at some point in our lives, gotta "compromise" sometimes LOL.

Used to take Highway 61. By the time it meets up with Bees Ferry Rd, it's backed up that way. Once you get to Glenn McConnell if you take Bees Ferry, it's backed up there thanks to West Ashley High.

Plus, my husband and I carpool. He works on Rivers Ave in N. Chas, so we usually hop on I-26, get on 526-E and get off at that first exit for Rivers. Then I take 526-W to work from there (or Cosgrove if I'm feeling in the mood). We used to take Highway 61 while carpooling but it started to take longer.

Never backtracked to get on I-26 from Old Orangeburg. Speaking of Old Orangburg Rd...They actually closed it between 17A and Dorchester Rd due to the road washing away

3. Hurricane locale

4. Drunk college students driving on the roads

5. High crime rate in North Charleston
