Hi! We are visiting Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms this weekend for a potential job for my husband. I'm hoping to visit some apartments/condos that are as close to the two islands as possible since we only have one car right now so he may be biking to work. So far we're interested in Mount Pleasant - the Boulevard, Gregorie Ferry Landing, Heritage Village, and Wando East Townhouses but that's just from listings on Craigslist. I work from home and we have an almost 2 year old that we'll need to find daycare for as well - hopefully <$2K/mo.

1. Budget <$2K (preferably a lot less like $1600/mo)
2. House/Condo/Townhome? any
3. Employment Status(commute/work from home) SO on Sullivan's Island/Isle of Palms (<8mi by bike), me at home
4. Children(public school vs. private) daycare/Montessori
5. Suburban, Coastal or Urban lifestyle preference or a mix of them together (or even Rural) prefer coastal but will take a mix
6. Amenities preferred or must-haves pool, playground, gym, open floorplan, 3BR or 2BR+office, W/D, accepts pets
7. Preferable demographics of desired neighborhood safe, family friendly, kids

Overall we're looking for suggestions for family friendly apartments/condos to check out while we're there as well as any recommended full day daycare facilities. Thanks so much, we're excited to visit!

I believe you're going to be very hard pressed to find something on IOP or Sullivan's within your price range.

I agree, so we were thinking of South? Mount Pleasant area. Basically as close to IOP or SI as possible - within a few miles. Sorry for the confusion!

You can rent some 3BR townhouses in Park West for that, but your husband will not be able to bike to work. Something like this: 1300 Park West Blvd #602 (3BR/2BA, $1,495/mo). I believe that complex has its own amenities and you can probably also use the larger Park West Amenities. There is a preschool back there as well, but I don't know anything about it. :-)

There are several rental apartment complexes on Rte 17 at the IOP Connector. Biking would be possible from them. I forget the name so Google map the area.

^ Good suggestions, there are a few complexes in
Seaside Farms that are next to the IOP Connector.

Also, I lived in Bay Club apts on Chuck Dawley yrs ago right before
the approach to Sullivans, very easy bike ride, did
it all the time.

The complex went condo awhile back its "Bay Club Sea Lofts" now. Still worth
a drive by the complex bulletin board to check for
rentals and Craigslist. Good Luck!

Awesome, thanks for all the ideas! We haven't heard of those so this will really help. It's so hard to research from far away and we want to make the most of our time there. Thanks!
