I spoke to the president of Buck's Pizza today in PA. The store was closed because the landlord more than DOUBLED the rent. That's the exact same issue that happened to the UPS store and why they moved to the Piggly mall this past January. The president said the owner of that location is also a plumber and decided to get back into that business because of all the construction down here. He said most of their stores are sit down restaurants and that the delivery type business is not doing as well these days. Some of their larger locations have seating for 200 patrons.

Pizza is the one thing we got plenty of in this area.

In Summerville, I can name a half dozen good joints right away. There's Valentino's on Old Trolley, the kid was on one of those Restaurant Makeover Shows and they did a nice job on that place. He makes a good NY-style pie with plenty of toppings.

Right up the street on Trolley is Famularia's, good slice & soda special at lunch-time. There's Steel City Pizza on Dorchester, with a nice bar setup and an outdoor Piazza. Down Dorch a little farther is Gennaro's.

There's great variety of toppings at Mellow Mushroom on Main St and, though I haven't tried it yet, I'm told Matt's downtown makes a good pie too.

Now........if we could just get good Bagels around here !!!
