We're thinking about taking a ride upstate this Fall. Does anybody have a favorite place for Leaf Peeping ?

Some of the State Parks like Table Rock and Caesars Head look interesting with long views of the mountains and hiking trails to waterfalls. Is there a Bed 'n Breakfast that would make a good starting point for exploring over a long weekend ??

I love Maggie Valley in NC. Lots of good lodging, good food, right over the mountain from Cherokee. Eldest son and I are going the third week in October.

Thanks Caili......I'll look into Maggie Valley. Is 3rd week in October the peak color week up there ??

That's a little bit of a drive from the coast. I think we want to stay in the Palmetto State for this.

It's pretty much the peak season - it can vary a bit depending on the weahter, and how soon the weather turns.
