I'm not really happy about the Bug Busters we signed up with......can anybody recommend a good quarterly treatment company in the Summerville area ??

I think our Termite Bond from them will carry, but they're slow to get around to the 3-month treatments. I think our Bugs know this and are taking advantage of the situation ;_)

I'm pretty happy with Palmetto Exterminators. It's $62 per quarter and we haven't had any issues, other that one of them leaving our back gate open once. I had a talk with them, and it hasn't happened since. Also, I can manage appointments and my account thru their website, which is pretty handy.

I've ad Home Team Pest for the past two years since we moved in a brand new home in Spencer Creek Woods off of Ladson Rd. I have it for both pest and termite. So far no problems with the service.

Yes, ditto on Home Team. That's who I used on my home in Ladson, and we never had an issue.

Thanks for the responses. I think Home Team did this whole development when it was new 10 years ago. What's that little box they put on the side of these houses ??

Prices on these recommendations would be helpful also. How much does Home Team charge ? Is $60 a quarter the going rate. That's what I'm paying now, but would like better service.

Can a Homeowner treat the perimeter of the house with that chemical you can buy at Lowe's ?? I know that's not the same level of Toxic that the Bug Busters can spray -- but do we really need Agent Orange to control the Palmetto Bugs ??

In addition to termite perimeter bait stations, installed and monitored by Advance Pest Control, I treat the foundation with Black Flag every 6-8 weeks. In the 3 years I've been doing this, we've had maybe half a dozen palmetto bugs inside the house, all of them belly up from crossing the barrier. I just mix up the concentrate in a garden sprayer, and it takes about 15-20 minutes to do the whole perimeter.

Same for me. Home Team is what I use and I've never had an issue. Since my house was a new build they put this "port" in the house where they can come and treat it in no time at all.

Pest control is one issue and dependent on one tolerances for pests. Termite bonding is a different issue. Do not confuse them.
