To determine the 30 safest cities in South Carolina, we looked at the most recent FBI Crime Report. We first narrowed the list down to those cities that reported complete crime data to the FBI and had a population of more than 2,000 people in 2013. Then we compared the number of reported violent crimes (murder, robbery, rape, and aggravated assault) and property crimes (burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson) in each city. Finally, to level the playing field, we determined the chance of these crimes happening out of 1,000 people.
They need to remove them from the list and see where they lie compared to other towns. Gotta keep the narrative straight.
I don't understand this focus on town versus cities ... It has nothing to do with size... but with the form of government... there are cities with 2000 residents .. and towns with 100 thousand... scattered across the country.
Mount Pleasant should be compared with other cities its size, not Edgefield, Tega Cay, and Fountain Inn...
