Hi All

Thinking about a visit to Charleston. My situation is that I am recently single, 53, no children, and my holiday plans are in shambles. So I am considering a drive from Boston to get away somewhere warmer. I like the ocean, beaches, kayak, nature trails, good food and would be open to meeting others - don't know if that is likely or unlikely for an outsider visiting in Charleston? Any New Years eve activities?

Anyone care to share an opinion about suitability? I know it is a little vague and generic but I am hoping to salvage a week of mandatory vacation with a good memory of the 2015 Holiday Season and need to drive somewhere as flights and rentals are exorbitantly priced.

Thanks in advance, Joe

Charleston would be great. Prices are lower this time of year. Check out Meetups for things going on and people who are in your same situation.

Charleston is very small.Stay as close to the visitors' Center as possible and utilize their services. Have a good visit.

Hey Joe! If you made it down here I'd suggest visiting Mount Pleasant and downtown historic Charleston.
