This is really weird. No crime shows up at all for Summerville. A conspiracy nut would think they were trying to hide something.

Spotcrime, RAIDS, nothing shows Summerville crime. I apologize to the earlier poster for assuming that it would be available. Now I'm really curious.

Ways I evaluate a neighborhood before I move to it:

1.) How much litter is on the ground. Criminals and people who don't have pride in their neighborhood trash it.

2.) Look at the quality of the local businesses.

3.) Bars on the windows are another telltale sign.

4.) Upkeep of the lawns, quality of the cars in people's driveways, etc. is another one.

I have lived in bad neighborhoods and I have lived in good neighborhoods. That's how I tell the difference!

I would say to check the area at night on the weekends, see what's happening. Look at the perimeter of the neighborhood, who can walk through your neighborhood. What kind of surrounding neighborhood is on the other side of the trees that you can walk through.

I have to laugh a bit at #4 above. I have been in some very bad , crime ridden neighborhoods, and there are some very fancy, expensive cars in driveways. Material things don't always show reality.

Point taken. Fancy cars just show the ability to live beyond one's means!
