...what a scary thread. One of the more colorful diatribes I've seen on City Data. Great picture we're painting for potential residents and visitors of Charleston.

Very sad. In many respects.

Why not tell the truth?

I have first hand knowledge of the area having lived two blocks off Park Circle on Chesterfield Road for many years in the 60's, early 70's, late 80's and early 90's.... I've seen much of the good and bad in North Charleston... In the 60's and 70's, Park Circle was a nice place to live but surrounded by the thugs in the ghettos of Liberty Hill and the prostitution and drug dealers of Spruill and Reynolds Avenue. I remember back in 1967 when my parents were attacked by gangs from Liberty Hill as they traveled down Montague Ave on their way to Park Circle.... I realize that the underprivileged youth were only taking out their frustrations as they threw the bricks knocking out all of the windows in my parent's VW. My mom and dad survived the attack with only cuts and bruises.

What has changed since then? No matter what direction you travel in N. Charleston, you pass through a high crime area to get to Park Circle... When I visit this area, I'm always armed and try to avoid traveling anywhere in N. Charleston late evening...

So, any word on these two thugs? Have they caught them yet?

It seemed from the initial outpouring of anger at this senseless "execution" of an innocent person in Park Circle (which is touted as a nice family place to live), that everyone was on the lookout for them and it wouldn't be long before someone spotted them and they were caught, but I have not seen anything on the news lately.

You'd think they'd be running their photos day and night on the news - or is this just another shooting in N. Charleston - so the media - and everyone else (not talking about the PD here) - has moved on?

Those kids all need, if found guilty, a lifetime away from society. But the whole Lynch mob bit was growing a bit tiring.

I don't recall anybody talking about lynch mobs.

Perhaps the wrong word choice, but it felt that way to me. Mentioning hangings, and the like, tend to make me think that way.
