So funny -- they announced yesterday about spraying and I said to husband -- get ready for all the folks complaining about the planes flying low. Not sure that was the case with this plane.
From now until the end of September we will have tons of traffic -- tourist season baby.
If you have a reverse commute from inner WA or the peninsula there's hardly any traffic both ways.

This is one reason I often recommend that someone working in N Chas look to live in West Ashley. I know someone who moved to Avondale and says the same thing as you, Charlestondata... he loves his commute now vs when he lived on Johns Isl.
Any comments on the lane take away on the Ashley bridge into town?
Seems stupid to me. Bet no more than 50 bikes will commute that bridge per day.
Better solution would have been to used existing sidewalks on the bridge leaving town.
Never could understand DOT's thinking.

That side connects to St Andrews a LOT better than the inbound lane, however it's too narrow to really do much with.
The lane on the westward bridge is way to narrow for any type of frequent use. FWIW- it looks like they had the right lane eastbound (onto the peninsula) striped off this morning. I am very hopeful about this. Given the kamikaze 3-4 lane changes many were attempting between 61 and Lockwood over the course of that bridge I think this is actually preferable.
I don't know if I would use it daily because I have a bit of an early start time & am not a morning person but I fully anticipate using the lane on weekends or even if I meet people back out at night.

This. Not having to rely on Uber will be a massive draw to the bike lane.
The issue is the choke points exist prior to the bridge so the flow over the bridge was never really at 100% IMO. I feel they need to fix 17 so it doesn't collapse to 1 lane to alleviate some of the traffic issues. If they were to give 17 2 lanes coming into the bridge you'll start to see a need for that lane a whole lot more than you may now. Eventually they have to address the West Ashley traffic problem. They need to be able to use 100% of that bridge's capacity.

They study statistics on car volume. I'd like to see the bicycle volume.
