My microcell would constantly try to switch between microcell and tower. Goodbye AT&T.

A big antenna is an eye sore. It may not affect pricing that much but it will affect it some.

An opinion. In a world where people function with their phones, some think that having a tower in their eyeline is an advantage. Reception rocks.

If you say so. I've seen towers like this and they blend in pretty well. YMMV.

In other words, "Mate, you drink enough, it's all the same."

So what's the exact argument here?

The world is increasingly dependent on cellular connections. Land lines are going the way of the horse and buggy, home automation and systems like simplisafe require these connections. There is zero doubt that any community that doesn't keep up will suffer accordingly, both in limited services and in the demand for people to live in that community.

There are a lot of places where one can live off the grid, the middle of a suburban community like Rivertowne isn't one of them.

Didn't realize MP was a luddite epicenter.

So thanks to IsNull I found out that T-Mobile has a microcell device. Not one of those boosters (which did nothing for me because it needs a minimum amount of signal to work and I wasn't getting it), but an actual miniature cell tower the size of a modem. I just hooked it up and it works as advertised. I now have five bars everywhere in my home whereas before I was struggling to get one. No more dropped calls, no more missed calls, no more telling people I have to call them back from my land line ... it's like a whole new world. Such a seemingly small thing that makes such a huge difference.

If you're on T-Mobile and have reception issues I highly recommend it, plus it's free. https://support.t-mobile.com/communi...g-lte-cellspot

You lucked out being a T-Mobile customer. AT&T also has their own 3G/4G microcecll that you can usually get for free if you live in a dark coverage spot. Verizon on the other hand, seemingly doesn't give a damn about their customers or network extender hardware. They charge $250 for a device that is 3G only, and hasn't been updated in about 6 years, and is a brick half the time. /end rant

We live on the very edge of 4G coverage (and 3G is spotty), so I would love to have a new tower visible from my backyard, let a long one of the "stealth" or tree-style ones blended in to surrounding forest areas.
