I cant find much about it online so I am guessing no but I thought I would ask...
This question is not because we want to start one -- but because my dh specializes in working at start ups a few years in and we are looking to move to the coastal south (smaller cities only) in next couple years and, of course, we need jobs (mine goes with me)...

Boy is it filled with misinformation. AS we have pointed out too many times to count, while the cost of living here is HIGH (not relatively low), the wages aren't keeping up. Who makes up this stuff?

It's still a better gig than San Fransisco and New York. But yeah, probably it's just assuming what's stereotypical for the south.
Charleston compared to New York or San Francisco, or Los Angeles or San Jose or D.C. or Boston is cheap. That's what they mean.
