Would anyone happen to know of a website where I can find waterfront (salt water) homes in the Charleston area? We moved to Summerville last September and we love it here, but we just bought a boat and are considering a move closer to the water.

We drove through a few neighborhoods the other day and saw a lot of homes for sale. But I can't seem to find any on the websites I use regularly (Agent Owned, Weichert, Realtor.com).

Thanks!

Or have your realtor pull them for you. All of the above websites are pulling from the same Charleston Trident MLS system, most should have "waterfront" as a selectable search feature. If not, it only takes a second to build a web page that would list every home on the MLS currently available on deepwater. I'd be happy to run a search for you.

I think any Realtor would be happy to run a search for you. However, I would recommend that if you purchased a home in Summerville and were happy with your representation, that you might want to recontact that Realtor and ask them to identify some good options for you. If you have not, you might want to identify a Realtor who has in depth knowledge of the Charleston area and who will work hard in your behalf. Some of the ways to identify such a professional is through a referral from a friend or from getting a feel for a Realtor from researching individual Realtor websites. Look at their credentials, time in business, experience in representing buyers, whether their web sites are informative rather than just providing you with a search capability and their philosophy of doing business. Keep in mind that anything on any kind of deep water property is going to be relatively expensive. In searching on line for deep water property, it should be noted that the definition of deep water property is generally subjective and open to interpretation. Your Realtor can preview property for you and get the answers to any questions you may have about the home or water.
