If you want personal experiences, you may want to go visit the schools. This probably isn't the right place for something that specific. But, Porter-Gaud(Episcopal), Bishop England (Catholic), and First Baptist are the ones I know of.
Porter-Gaud is the most well known. It's been around (more or less) since the 1860's, has excellent academics, and is expensive (something like $15k a year). I used to play against them every year in football.
I don't know much at all about Bishop England, other than it's a Catholic school that's very old as well.
First Baptist is a little bit smaller, and probably a good bit less expensive than P-G or Bishop England.
