Post woodworking/fishing/sailing.

I live in New Bern NC. I like it here but my wife who is not from New Bern likes Charleston and the areas around it.
I like to do woodwork, fish, and sail my 35ft sailboat. So I would be looking for a boat slip (to rent or buy), plus an area where if I ran a table saw I would not make my neighbor mad. I don’t mind a rural area.
I know there are a lot of these questions on this site but I would thank you in advance for any and all advice you can give me.

John's Island sounds about right to me for you.
What doesn't she like about New Bern? I usually don't hear to many bad things about it, sometimes it's too small for people.

Yea that is the main thing she does not like. She would like a place with a few more restaurants and things to do.
Also for such a small town, there is a fair amount of crime here. I am in the historic district and my car has been broken into 3 times.
I know that the crime in North Charleston is high but it seems like other areas are not too bad.
It seems like there are lots of housing developments where the houses are right on top of each other. I worry that if I am using a saw in my garage I would disturb someone, and I don’t want to do that.
It seems like the marinas are expensive as well. For my size boat the slips run around $150 to $350. It seems like they start at $350 there. Location.. Location.. Location..

Marina's are expensive here. As far as using your woodworking tools, there are plenty of places that are within a half hour of downtown for the wife.
