I live in Goose Creek and thought it would be nice to stay in a Charleston hotel to watch the fireworks on the 4th. What would be a good hotel (not too expensive) to have a decent view of the fireworks. My husband, 2 daughters, and myself would be staying.

This sounded like fun, so I looked at the suggested hotel(s). $300-$500/night.

Very expensive but every hotel in the Charleston area on the 4th of July will be expensive.

The OP asked for "not too expensive."

And as all have rightly stated, there isn't a hotel near the water that's not expensive in Charleston. Now add to the requirements the biggest night of the summer

I assumed that before I even looked, but thought maybe someone knew something that I didn't since the cost caveat wasn't mentioned. No need to get all condescending.

Not sure how expensive but Andrew Pickney Inn has a rooftop that has a good view. We did it last year. You can bring your own drinks/food.

I am sorry for being so snotty -- I do apologize. I'm just so used to the calls I get from many "almost acquaintances" wishing to visit this travel Mecca & asking about an inexpensive hotel on the peninsula. Then they scoff at a Mt P suggestion. At this point in our economy, there's just not much not expensive here for a family, especially in the summer.
